The Private Nature Reserve El Silencio is located in the west slope of the east Andes range, about 60 Km. from Bogotá, in the municipality of San Francisco, Cundinamarca, above an altitude of 2700 m. (8860 feet). The temperature is cold, between 10°C and 18°C (50°F to 65°F).
