El Silencio is a cattlefarm located in a zone of colombian andean humid forest, also known as cloud forest. In 1997 it has been declared Private Nature Reserve asociated to the Colombian Network Association of Natural Reserves of the Civil Society (Resnatur). In the area you can find more than 500 species of plants, 75 species of orchids and about 120 species of birds.

We belive that conservation of natural ecosystems together with sustainable production is a way to achieve sustainable development in the tropics. We protect water streams and natural forests, and recover degradated areas to conserve and promote biodiversity. We are also implementing organic management of prairies.

As a complementary activity we offer ecotourism and rural tourism for people who want to explore the real natural beauty of Colombia.
